In 1919 Emil Loder (1890-1971) and Adolf Schweizer bought the former Wanzenried factory in Steffisburg (Canton of Bern / Switzerland), where they had been working since 1915.
In early 1925, Emil Loder and Adolf Schweizer ended their collaboration. Adolf Schweizer continued the business alone and Emil Loder founded Luzerner Keramik in Malters (Canton of Lucerne) the same year. In 1932 Emil had a son named Franz who took the artistic direction of the workshop probably from 1965 until 1996 with a different name - Kunstkeramik A.G.
